Even if the Hurricanes are playing with house money in their neutral-site affair vs. Alabama in Atlanta on Saturday, you do not want to poke the bear. Miami can lose this game, but being embarrassed is not an option.

The Hurricanes seem to have the right head coach in Manny Diaz entering year three on the job. They have a serious Heisman Trophy contender at quarterback in D’Eriq King. Alabama did lose an absurd amount of talent to the 2021 NFL Draft. It is razor-thin, but Miami has a chance.

Even if the diss track from a Miami fan has to make some Hurricanes fans cringe, what do they have to lose in this one anyway? If Miami wins out in the 12 games to follow past Labor Day, the Hurricanes will make the College Football Playoff with marquee wins over Clemson and division rival North Carolina. As for Alabama, the Crimson Tide cannot go 0-1 entering their SEC slate.
