With the Las Vegas Raiders releasing wide receiver John Brown, the Chiefs would be wise to try and sign him.

With teams needing to keep trimming things down to get to 53 players, we’re seeing plenty of movement across the NFL. Over in Las Vegas, wide receiver John Brown asked for his release from the AFC West side, as he’s looking to keep playing elsewhere. Could he end up staying in the division?

For the Kansas City Chiefs, it’s hard to imagine the offense getting better. With that said, Brown is a speedster and he could really open up the field even more for Patrick Mahomes. Reaching out and seeing how much it’d cost for a one-year deal would be a wise move.

The Chiefs could end up making a move for John Brown

After spending the past two seasons with the Bills, Brown landed with the Raiders and was hoping to make an impact catching balls from Derek Carr. Now, that marriage is already over. Keep in mind, Brown has recorded 1,000-yard seasons twice in his career.

He did so in 2015 with the Cardinals and then once again in 2019 with Buffalo. Last campaign, though, he only recorded 33 receptions for 458 yards in nine games. With his speed, he could really do some special things in the right offense.

Why not Kansas City? If Brown is cheap enough, Brett Veach could sign him to a one-year deal and let him prove his worth during 2021. Who better to throw deep balls to him than Patrick Mahomes? Probably no one.

With the Chiefs looking like serious threats to win the Super Bowl, adding a savvy veteran like Brown would make them even stronger. Stay tuned to see if the Chiefs indeed make a move or if Brown lands elsewhere.
