Hurricane Ida brought an absurd amount of rainwater to Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night.

Torrential downpours brought on by Hurricane Ida has resulted in the Yankee Stadium outfield being completely submerged underwater.

While the New York Yankees do not play on Thursday night, the Bronx Bombers are slated to host the AL East rival Baltimore Orioles on Friday night. Though it might be enough time to allow the drainage system to do its work, if the game between AL East foes is played on time at 7:10 p.m. ET, expect for it to be a soupy mess in The Bronx. Though they got the tarp over the infield, the outfield is submerged in several inches of water.

Yankee Stadium underwater: How are the Yankees going to be able to play?

Since this game on Friday night will be the first vs. Baltimore, they could have the ability to push it back to either Saturday or Sunday as part of a double-header. Given that they are division rivals, there are plenty of ways for a Friday night game to be rescheduled if need be. While there should be time for the outfield to drain properly, you cannot make anyone play ball in those conditions.

Be safe out there. Ultimately, this is just a baseball game and there are more important things.
