Twitter quick to remind Duke it’s a basketball school after loss to Charlotte

The Charlotte 49ers defeated the Duke Blue Devils on Friday night, a surprising result that more of us really should’ve seen coming.
David Cutcliffe making Duke relevant again, at one point or another, ought to be enough to make the College Football Hall of Fame.
Duke is a basketball school through and through, and by no means will that ever change. Losing to your non-Power 5 conference neighbor, however, is a new low the Blue Devils achieved on Friday.
A back-and-forth display saw the 49ers come out on top thanks to a late touchdown and a defensive stop when they needed it the most.

Will Healy picked up the 49ers first ever win over a Power 5 program. It’s a victory that deserves to be celebrated, even if it did come against the lowest tier of ACC competition.
Charlotte fans that made the quick trip over to Durham stormed the field to celebrate, as did the players. It was well-deserved.
Social media roasted Duke after the loss.
