Of course, FS1’s Skip Bayless would have a scorching hot take on Oklahoma football superstar Spencer Rattler not even one game into the 2021 college football season.

Spencer Rattler may be the best player on the Oklahoma football team, but FS1’s Skip Bayless is not all that impressed with the 2021 Heisman Trophy favorite.

Rattler needed a little while to get settled in Oklahoma’s season opener vs. the Tulane Green Wave, but he still put up numbers that will keep him in the Heisman conversation. However, Bayless’ early-season commentary on the redshirt sophomore signal-caller suggests that Rattler is a product of Lincoln Riley’s Air Raid system, and may not be much of anything at the NFL level.

A bad team like the Houston Texans would love to draft Rattler No. 1 out of Oklahoma in 2022.

Skip Rattler does not believe Spencer Rattler will be an NFL superstar just yet

While there is some validity to what Bayless is saying, as Rattler has been an inconsistent player at times for Oklahoma, he is by far and away the most physically gifted quarterback Riley has had in Norman to date. Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray were undersized, and Jalen Hurts was not even an NFL passing prospect prior to coming to Oklahoma. Rattler possesses five-star talent.

While he may not become an NFL superstar, Rattler’s obvious upside is worth taking a swing on.
