Michigan football fans sang “Mr. Brightside” in unison during the team’s season opening game against Western Michigan.

In the very first week of the college football season, fans in attendance were showing off their vocal range and dance moves. Virginia Tech fans sang Metallica’s hit song “Enter Sandman” during the team’s entrance for the season opener, while Wisconsin faithful danced to “Jump Around” by House of Pain.

Nearly 110,000 Michigan Wolverines fans packed inside “the Big House” for their game against Western Michigan on Saturday sang “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers in perfect unison.

Michigan football fans break out in song during season opening win

From the sounds of it, no one was off key. Bravo to you, Michigan football fans.

On the football side, the Wolverines had themselves a great day at the proverbial office. They wasted no time to get on the scoreboard, as an 11-play opening drive capped off by a 14-yard touchdown pass from Cade McNamara to Blake Corum. While Western Michigan did respond with a touchdown of their own on their first drive, they would not get on the scoreboard again until the fourth quarter, while the Wolverines essentially scored at will.

Corum led the way on the round, as he accumulated 111 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries. McNamara completed 9-of-11 pass attempts for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

The Wolverines once again will thrive off their passionate fanbase, as they host the Washington Huskies next weekend.
