After an upset by UCLA, former LSU football player Tyrann Mathieu appears to be questioning head coach Ed Orgeron on Twitter.

Some LSU football fans are looking at Ed Orgeron’s current team and wondering if they have what it takes to compete. Former Tiger Tyrann Mathieu is among them.

When UCLA upset the Tigers at the Rose Bowl, Mathieu posted a cryptic tweet.

“Man we need a talk man,” Mathieu said.

If you weren’t certain that tweet had to do with Orgeron’s Tigers, Mathieu made it very clear with a follow up.

“The only think I am interested in is seeing who will step up and lead this tigers team…. That is the guy I’ll remember!!! I am looking for you going forward!” he continued.

Mathieu wrapped it all up with some positivity, at least.

“Good news tigers is that it’s all fixable. Let’s fix it! Back to work!!!” Mathieu wrote.

The Tigers are coming off a tough 2020 season, but that could have been written off because of the pandemic.

What’s harder to bypass is the 38-27 loss to the Bruins. It’s not just that UCLA found a way to win, it’s that they outclassed LSU, who trailed 38-20 with six minutes remaining in the game. Orgeron may have had success with Joe Burrow and a stacked team in 2019, but they look a long way from that high.

That kind of effort won’t be nearly enough for the Tigers to survive the SEC slate. Having been humbled, they have a lot to sort out. Mathieu is just saying what everyone can see.
