Spencer Rattler is the top-rated quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft class. Here are the five teams with the best chance to land the Oklahoma star.

The 2021 college football season may only be a week old, but Spencer Rattler is firmly entrenched as the No. 1 quarterback prospect in this season’s draft class. The race is already on for NFL teams who want to position themselves to acquire the talented signal-caller.

Rattler may lack the prototypical size that NFL teams covet at the quarterback position, but his ability to make plays on the perimeter sets him apart from his competitors. He may not be an elite speedster, but he excels when asked to make throws on the run. That gives him a chance to become a star at the next level.

Any team wanting to land Rattler needs to be prepared to select him at the top of the 2022 NFL Draft. The following five teams are well-positioned to do just that.

5. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are all in on Sam Darnold this season but they won’t hesitate to move in a new direction if their 2021 season goes off the rails. If Carolina finishes with one of the league’s worst records, they won’t hesitate to use their top draft pick on a new quarterback.

Rattler’s arm talent makes him an intriguing fit with the Panthers’ talented receiving corps in Joe Brady’s offense. Starting a signal-caller with Rattler’s mobility might also assuage concerns about Carolina’s weaknesses along the offensive line. The Panthers are desperate to find a franchise quarterback and Rattler could emerge as that guy when draft time rolls around.
