Pick Analysis. 1B. 1. 17. Scouting Report. Atlanta Braves. Freddie Freeman. player

If the Braves do not bring back Freddie Freeman on a new contract, we riot

If this does not happen, Braves Country should riot. Freddie Freeman has been the face of the franchise since Chipper Jones retired and he should not be allowed to wear another big-league uniform. Freeman is the reigning NL MVP and is putting up monster numbers yet again for the Braves. The fact he remains unsigned heading into free agency cannot sit well with their fans.

You are not going to find a more consummate professional that Freeman at first base. He embodies everything you could ever ask for when it comes to The Braves Way. Atlanta can count on him to play first base 162 games a year, or to the best of his abilities, as well as walk out of bed and hit .300 from the left side of the plate. He is every bit the franchise cornerstone to invest in.

So while he could have some interest playing for the favorite team of his childhood in the Los Angeles Angels, that would make Braves fans more sick to their stomaches than seeing Tom Glavine start games for the Mets. Braves ownership and general manager Alex Anthopoulos cannot let that happen. While Freeman could get extended soon, this is the elephant in the room.

What other players on the Braves should Atlanta look to lock up with long-term extensions?
