1. Do not give Sean McVay a lead at halftime because we know how that goes

Death, taxes and Sean McVay having a lead heading into halftime. All three are inevitabilities no mere mortal could ever hope to overcome. If you are trailing the Rams heading into halftime, you are better served packing up all your equipment than going out for the second half. This quirk is the NFL equivalent of Nick Saban vs. one of his disciples. Guess who will be winning that one?

So look at it this way. You have 30 minutes to set the tone to beat the Rams. No, we are not playing for ties because this is not soccer. Go out there and do the four things we have already talked about. Bail on Dalton in favor of Fields if he stinks. Limit Donald’s overall effectiveness. Constantly remind Stafford he will always be a Lion. And don’t let Nagy ruin the game, please.

The best way to do this is be opportunistic in turning the ball over on defense. Keep the ball out of McVay and Stafford’s hands. Keep in mind wunderkind defensive coordinator Brandon Staley now coaches the other NFL team that calls SoFi Stadium home, so the Rams defense could be a slight regression candidate this year. Above all else, do not let McVay have a lead heading into halftime.

While this has all been a little tongue-in-cheek, the Bears will have their work cut out for them.
