As the son of legendary Duke power forward Carlos Boozer, 14-year-old Cameron Boozer appears capable of becoming an elite recruit for the Blue Devils.

Whether it’s a college fraternity or a world-class college basketball program, legacy picks tend to get preference at a family alma matter — and it’s certainly looking that way for potential 2025 Duke recruit Cameron Boozer.

Boozer, the son of Blue Devil legend Carlos Boozer, could bring the family name back to Durham if his exceptional game develops throughout his high school career. A mere freshman, the 14-year-old Boozer already measures 6-foot-8 and 210 pounds and is considered “arguably the most promising talent in his class.”

Cameron Boozer can continue the family legacy at Duke

Rivals’ Jamie Shaw evaluated Boozer’s performance at a basketball camp recently and had the following to say:

"“He was easily the best player and prospect in attendance…Boozer has a strong and lengthy frame. His game is mature, and his pace is never rushed. He can score with his back to the basket and has touch and a go-to over both shoulders.”"

Speaking with Shaw, the younger Boozer admitted watching his dad play for Duke while keeping an eye on Kentucky, Kansas and UNC, which are “all really good schools with great programs.”

“I bring energy, I rebound, I play defense, I try to dominate the paint, I can spread the floor too,” Boozer said of his varied set of skills. “I feel like I am able to bring a lot to the game. Anthony Davis is my favorite player. I try to model my game after him every chance I get.”

During his time at Duke, Carlos was a 2001 NCAA Champion, First-Team All-ACC in 2002, and ACC Tournament MVP that same year. He then went on to become a two-time NBA All-Star with a 13-year career on four different NBA teams.

If Cameron plays anything like Davis or his father, he will be a top basketball recruit to watch in the years to come.
