Atlanta Braves star Freddie Freeman said he wanted Sean Nolin tossed after hitting him with a pitch in the first inning of Wednesday’s game.Â
Oh, the drama between the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals keeps getting more interesting. There were plenty of fireworks in the showdown on Wednesday after pitcher Sean Nolin drilled Freddie Freeman with a pitch in the first inning.Â
This came after Juan Soto was hit by a pitch on Tuesday, with the slugger being nothing short of annoyed when it happened. Nolin decided to even the score, but he needed two tosses to get the job done. Per Freeman, that was unacceptable and Nolin needed to be tossed.
Freeman would have been fine had Nolin hit him with the first pitch. He told plate umpire Lance Barksdale Nolin had to go if he got hit with the next pitch. After Nolin found his target, Freeman told Soto and Martinez that Will Smith had said he didn't intentionally hit Soto.

Freddie Freeman wasn’t pleased when it took Sean Nolin two pitches to drill him
In his post-game presser, Freeman said he knew that Nolin might try and hit him. To Freeman, that’s baseball. However, the issue here is that Nolin threw behind Freeman on his first attempt to plunk him. That should have been it. On the next toss, though, Nolin drilled Freeman.
As soon as this happened, he told the home-plate ump that Nolin had to be thrown out of the game and head to the clubhouse for an early shower. Freeman got his wish, as Nolin indeed was ejected.
Shortly after that, Freeman was seen hugging Juan Soto and talking to Dave Martinez about what went down.
Clearly there’s no animosity between Freeman and the Nationals, but Braves fans were downright furious when Nolin went after him twice. He was rightfully ejected for his actions. Now, these two clubs are all set to face off once again on Thursday night. We can only hope no more ejections will be on the way, but you never know with these two teams.
