Green Bay Packers fans roasted former head coach Mike McCarthy during Thursday’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Dallas Cowboys were looking to make an early statement for the 2021 season, as they faced off against the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Dallas’ offense was thriving in the first half, the performance of kicker Greg Zuerlein, who had missed a 31-yard field goal and an extra point attempt.

That makes it even more puzzling that head coach Mike McCarthy called upon Zuerlein to attempt a 60-yard field goal with seconds remaining before halftime. Unsurprisingly, the Cowboys kicker missed the three-point attempt to keep their deficit at 21-16.

Cowboys fans were miserable after that call by McCarthy, and Green Bay Packers fans were reveling in the fact that he was no longer their head coach.

Packers fans, tell us how you really feel.

McCarthy, of course, spent 13 yards as the head coach in Green Bay, where he actually led the Packers to a Super Bowl 45 victory. However, the tail end to his tenure did not go well, as they failed to make the playoffs in his final two seasons. By Week 11 of the 2018 season, the Packers fired McCarthy, bringing his overall record to 131-87-2.

Cowboys fans have seen McCarthy lead the team for one full season, where the team fell to 6-10 and failed to make the playoffs after losing their Week 17 game against the New York Giants.

We shall check in with Cowboys fans once we reach the 2021 season progresses to see and hear what they think about McCarthy’s performance.
