Arizona Cardinals’ defensive end J.J. Watt had a typical ‘big brother’ Twitter response to T.J. Watt’s massive new contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburgh Steelers fans, you all weren’t the only ones anxiously awaiting T.J. Watt’s contract extension. J.J. Watt congratulated his younger brother in the way that only older brothers can, by reminding T.J. that he owes him money.

T.J. Watt, who was drafted No. 30 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, proved early on that his only identity was not ‘J.J. Watt’s little brother.’ T.J. has recorded double-digit sacks in the past three seasons — with 13 in 2018, 14.5 in 2019 and 15 in 2020. He’s finding ways to continue to dominate every year and that led to him finishing second in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2020, coming up short behind Los Angeles Rams’ Aaron Donald.

Not that he needs the accolades for affirmation, but T.J. is also No. 9 in the NFL’s Top Players of 2021.

J.J. Watt is waiting for some of T.J. Watt’s new contract money

J.J. Watt is fresh off of a two-year, $31 million contract with his new team the Arizona Cardinals. That doesn’t matter because J.J. is ready to pocket some of the money from the extension that T.J. finalized himself, which makes T.J. the league’s highest-paid defensive player.

Only a mere seven years ago it was J.J. Watt who was the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player in the league after he signed a six-year, $100 million extension with the Houston Texans in 2014. He knows how it is to hold that title and is enjoying seeing his little brother in that same position.

T.J., pay J.J. back. And don’t forget about Derek.
