Former Buckeye Jeff Okudah and ex-Duck Penei Sewell, now teammates on the Detroit Lions, had some social media trash talk during the Ohio State-Oregon game.

It wouldn’t be a college football Saturday without some friendly trash talk between NFL teammates.

The Lions are happy to have Jeff Okudah and Penei Sewell together in the pros. This Saturday, the two are enemies with Okudah’s Buckeyes battling Sewell’s Ducks.

“I really hope you didn’t get your hopes up today!” Okudah said in a tweet to Sewell.

“My boys at the O on go!!” Sewell quickly replied.

Okudah played cornerback for Ohio State and earned All-American honors in 2019. The Lions picked him No. 3 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Sewell also starred in college in 2019. He was the Outland Trophy winner and an All-American as an offensive lineman for the Ducks. After opting out of the 2020 pandemic-impacted season, Sewell landed with Detroit as the No. 7 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Okudah and Sewell may play for the same team now, but college affiliation runs deep.

Let’s hope the two have a jersey bet on this game. We’ve already seen Trevor Lawrence decked out in Georgia gear. We could see Okudah or Sewell wearing enemy swag soon enough.
