Tennessee football: 10 funniest tweets comparing Vols QB Joe Milton to Uncle Rico

Tennessee football fans are frustrated with quarterback Joe Milton’s downfield accuracy after he kept overthrowing wide open receivers against Pitt.
Joe Milton can throw a pigskin a quarter-mile. Unfortunately for Tennessee, his receivers aren’t a quarter-mile away.
The Volunteers quarterback was roasted on Twitter during Tennessee’s game against Pitt because of multiple extreme overthrows that Uncle Rico would be proud of.

The jokes are apt because there were undoubtedly plenty of Tennessee fans also saying “What the heck are you doing?” watching Milton throw those passes.
Joe Milton is gonna throw for 7000 yards. The ball will only be caught for about 2000 of those yards, but he’s gonna throw for a lot.

Joe Milton has to stop overthrowing the WRs. You HAVE to give the WR a chance.

An underthrown ball is fine, nobody can catch an overthrow.
Milton transferred to Tennessee from Michigan where he played for three years. He won the starting job for the Volunteers as expected, but his rocket arm is unreliable.
There’s undeniable arm talent there. It’s just useless if the ball isn’t anywhere near the receiver. Frustratingly for Milton, when he did put a deep pass right on target, it was dropped.
Milton didn’t have a chance to come good later on in the first half. He went out injured and left for the locker room after hitting 7-of-12 passes for 50 yards. He did more damage on the ground with 54 yards on five carries. The Volunteeers replaced him with backup Hendon Hooker.
