With so much NFL action to enjoy in Week 1, no one out there had any reason to spend any time thinking about Tim Tebow. Except for Skip Bayless, of course.

It took less than one week of NFL football for Bayless to drop a Tim Tebow take on Twitter.

“Jags could’ve used Tebow today,” Bayless tweeted on Sunday after the Jaguars were bested by the Texans.

Skip Bayless brought up Tim Tebow for no good reason

I mean, sure. Jacksonville could’ve used Tebow, Mother Teresa and the pope on the sidelines praying for a miracle. That’s what it would have taken, and more, for the outcome of Sunday’s game to change.

The Jaguars are a bad team. They trailed the Texans, who are not a particularly good team either, 34-7 late in the third quarter.

Tebow was only effective as a quarterback late in games, so he wouldn’t have helped at that position. He’d have been just as liable to throw three interceptions. However, it’s unlikely he would have ever matched Trevor Lawrence’s 332 yards or three touchdowns.

And he sure as hell wasn’t going to flip that scoreline as a tight end, even if he had turned out to be any good at his new position.

Jacksonville is going to go through a lot of growing pains this season. They wouldn’t win any more games with Tebow on the roster than off it. That much is pretty certain. Just don’t expect Skip to ever admit that.
