The Dallas Cowboys could have a problem in the trenches against the Chargers after DE DeMarcus Lawrence suffered a foot injury in practice.

It’s time for Cowboys fans to cross their fingers that DeMarcus Lawrence will be able to play on Sunday.

The star defensive end is suddenly in doubt for the weekend after suffering a foot injury in practice.

DeMarcus Lawrence could miss the Cowboys game vs. the Chargers

“There is real concern about Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence’s availability Sunday vs. Chargers, sources said,” Michael Hehlken of the Dallas Morning News tweeted. “He suffered a foot injury in practice today, prompting his news conference afterward to be canceled. Possible Cowboys are without both starting DEs vs. Justin Herbert.”

Lawrence was sent for testing instead of speaking to the media as scheduled, so the team has yet to update his status officially.

Dallas is also down defensive end Randy Gregory, who entered COVID-19 protocols on Monday. He needs two negative tests on consecutive days in order to play against the Chargers.

America’s Team will be on the road in Los Angeles and could go up against one of the best young quarterbacks in the league without two of their most important defensive linemen. That’s not a good position to be in at all.

Since Lawrence and Gregory haven’t been ruled out completely, it’ll be a long few hours or days of waiting for updates and hoping for good news.

Tarell Basham is listed as Lawrence’s direct backup on the depth chart.
