3. Aaron Jones will get 30+ carries

Green Bay abandoned the run early in their opener after falling behind to New Orleans. The end result is that Jones only ended up with five carries from scrimmage on the day. LaFleur will want to remedy that in a big way on Sunday.

That means Jones is going to get as many carries as he can reasonably handle. There’s a natural temptation for LaFleur to split carries between Jones and A.J. Dillon, but Jones is the better big play option. The prediction here is that Jones is going to break off a few big runs early that motivate LaFleur to give him the lion’s share of the workload as the game progresses.

If Jones is going to get 30+ carries he’ll need to showcase outstanding efficiency. Getting that many touches on the ground will allow him to rack up over 150 rushing yards. Throw in a few catches and it’s easy to envision a scenario where Jones goes for over 200 yards from scrimmage.

Jones and Dillon are going to split carries all season long, but Jones is the guy Green Bay will go to when they absolutely have to have a victory. Week 2 represents a must win for the Packers and they’ll ride Jones to get their season back on track.
