New York Giants offensive lineman Andrew Thomas had no answers trying to block Washington Football Team defensive end Chase Young.

The Giants have issues on the offensive line.

Going into Thursday Night Football, they changed centers and moved Nick Gates to guard. Then, early in the game against Washington, Gates went down with a serious injury.

The biggest problem right now isn’t on the interior though. New York tackle Andrew Thomas had his hands full with WFT’s Chase Young, who was taken two spots ahead of him in the draft.

Thomas was the No. 4 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft but he’s struggled to live up to that billing. He started the season excellently with a great performance in Week 1 against the Broncos.

Unfortunately for him, Washington has a more ferocious pass rush to deal with and he learned quickly on Thursday that there would be no mercy.

Really, the only thing sparing Thomas from pure humiliation was a roughing the passer penalty on Young when he spun him around and hit quarterback Daniel Jones.

Thomas didn’t endear himself to fans any more when he committed a critical false start.
