10 QB sleepers to target for fantasy football 2021 Week 2
Justin Fields vs. Cincinnati Bengals
OK, hear me out here, because I am well aware that Justin Fields is not the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears. I do, however, know that he is the best quarterback on the Chicago Bears roster, and we got to see glimpses of what he could do with the football in the preseason, and in Week 1.
Andy Dalton is currently the starter in Chicago, but this is a playoff-ready defense, and Dalton did not look like a quarterback who could get them there in Week 1. Maybe he rebounds against his old team in the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend, but I believe he will play so bad that Matt Nagy will have no choice but to turn to the rookie.
If that happens, Fields is going to be fantasy gold, as he should be able to find the end zone with his arm and his legs. Even if he does not get a lot of time, Fields could rack up the fantasy points, and eventually, he is going to be a must-start in any fantasy football format.
Ryan Tannehill vs. Seattle Seahawks
Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans offense looked terrible against Arizona in Week 1, a trend I do not believe will be a season-long thing. This weekend, they go up against a very tough Seattle Seahawks team, and while this may not seem like a good matchup for Tannehill, one can look at what Carson Wentz did against them in a loss in Week 1.
Wentz and the Colts may have lost, but he still threw for over 250 yards and two touchdowns, while more importantly, not tossing any interceptions. This Titans offense is going to want to prove a point in Week 2, and I expect Tannehill to exploit Seattle’s secondary with A.J. Brown and Julio Jones enough to be a solid fantasy play.
So there you have it, ten current starting quarterbacks who could end up being massive sleepers during the Week 2 slate this weekend. The NFL is a crazy place, and we saw some crazy things happen in Week 1, so buckle up for what should be another exciting few days of NFL football.
