The Packers were embarrassed by the Saints in Week 1. Here are five reasons why Green Bay will even their record against Detroit on Sunday.

It’s hard to imagine an NFL team suffering a more painful defeat than Green Bay experienced in Week 1. Losing to the Saints is one thing. Being blown out by Jameis Winston and company while Aaron Rodgers played one of the worst games of his professional career was quite another.

There’s significant pressure on everyone inside the Green Bay organization to right the ship on Sunday. The good news is that the Packers get to take on the lowly Lions at home this weekend. Detroit is the perfect opinion for Green Bay to face when they can’t afford another loss.

This should be a weekend where everyone on the Packers roster can get well and regain some serious confidence.

5. The Packers secondary will play better

Kevin King was an absolute disaster for defensive coordinator Joe Barry and his staff last week. If he can take his performance from inept to something approaching competence it can give Green Bay’s secondary a big lift.

If King doesn’t play better he’s going to find himself on the bench. First-round pick Eric Stokes is lurking behind him on the depth chart. It’s only a matter of time before he finds his way into the starting lineup at King’s expense. Either player will give the Packers better production than they enjoyed at corner in Week 1.
