The Patriots come off a heartbreaking home loss to the rival Dolphins. Now Bill Belichick’s club takes on another AFC East rival in the New York Jets.

For the second consecutive Sunday, Bill Belichick’s team will face an AFC East rival as the team hits the road and takes on the New York Jets. The Patriots have had the best of the series for quite a spell and currently own a 10-game winning streak over the Green and White dating back to 2016.

Both New England and New York failed to score at least 20 points in Week 1. The former fell at home to the Dolphins, 17-16, and the Jets lost at Carolina, 19-14.

5. Lessons learned from last meeting

The Pats’ latest victory in the series came in Week 17 a year ago when the club came away with a 28-14 triumph at Foxborough. Quarterback Cam Newton, in what proved to be his lone season with the organization, threw for 242 yards and three scores, ran 11 times for 79 yards and also caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in the 14-point victory.

Dating back to 2011, the Jets are a dismal 2-18 in their last 20 games in this series. But both of the team’s wins came at MetLife Stadium and ironically, each came in overtime. The team’s last win over the Pats came in the club’s second meeting in 2015.
