Florida football fans have nothing to hang their head over after a tough 2-point loss to Nick Saban’s Alabama football team.

While it will go down as a 2-point loss for Dan Mullen’s Florida football team, the Gators certainly gave Alabama a run for their money in their upset bid of the Crimson Tide.

Alabama football fans should be thanking their lucky stars after coming out of The Swamp with a 31-29 road victory over the Gators. The Crimson Tide may be 3-0, but they still have to face the likes of Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss and Texas A&M in divisional play. Though Florida still has to play Georgia down in Jacksonville, this was a performance they can so build on going forward.

Though most moral victories really amount to nothing, this one does feel different for Florida.

Florida football team gains a ton in their moral victory from the Alabama game

What this tough loss does for Florida is it allows them to play with confidence vs. anybody else they come across. Yes, Georgia may be a menace, but the Gators were one drive short of beating Alabama. Though not having Anthony Richardson available was costly, Emory Jones played with a ton of poise in the second half, as the Gators almost upset Bryce Young and the Crimson Tide.

Florida proved it can at least compete with the big boys on a massive stage under Coach Mullen.
