Indiana football fans crowd surfed one of the bleachers at Memorial Stadium for the second week in a row while playing Cincinnati.

Indiana fans are showing their wild side at Memorial Stadium these days.

It’s not safe to be a metal bleacher.

Yes, that’s a metal bleacher being held aloft by Hoosier fans during their game against Cincinnati. The atmosphere was electric with a Top 10 team in town, so of course, there had to be something bizarre going on in the stands.

This isn’t even the first bleacher to meet its end this season. Last week another bleacher went crowd surfing.

Matt Cohen of the Indianapolis Star even detailed multiple instances of bleachers at Memorial Stadium breaking and being hoisted up by fans. It seems the bleachers often give way under the feet of students bouncing on them.

Rather than becoming a safety issue (which it definitely is), it’s now more of a right of passage.

Basically, Memorial Stadium has been falling apart for a while now. Maybe the Hoosiers should look into upgrading their bleachers unless they want to see more floating over the heads of Indiana football fans.

It’s a fun tradition at this point, but an expensive one. School officials are probably the only ones not enjoying those images right now.
