The Philadelphia Eagles have placed their star tight end Zach Ertz on the COVID-19 list.

More bad news for the Philadelphia Eagles, as they had to place tight end Zach Ertz on the COVID-19 list Monday afternoon.

Philadelphia has suffered a rash of injuries, including losing defensive lineman Brandon Graham for the season. While the injury to offensive lineman Brandon Brooks is not as severe as the one to Graham, potentially not having Ertz available certainly makes things more difficult for Nick Sirianni’s team as they take on the arch rival Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football in Week 3.

Ertz’s vaccination status will play a big factor on how quickly he can return to the Eagles’ lineup.

The Eagles may have suffered a loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2, but they are in good shape in the NFC East. Every team in the division has suffered a loss already and the only winless team remaining is the New York Giants. However, the loser on Monday Night Football next week in Arlington will be 1-2 on the year. Philadelphia has to take advantage of the division being down.

With Ertz being placed on the COVID-19 list, look for Dallas Goedert to get more looks at tight end.
