Cardinals extend win streak behind some sort of voodoo magic (Video)

The St. Louis Cardinals cannot be stopped, winning their 12th straight game. Some Cardinals fan — you, yes you — must keep wearing that lucky jersey.

Based on how Thursday afternoon went, it’s gotta be a Paul Goldschmidt jersey.

On a day Adam Wainwright recorded his 2,000th career strikeout, the Cardinals made a memorable comeback against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Cards entered the game 1-40 when trailing by four or more runs this season. That didn’t matter! St. Louis came back behind another timely bomb from Goldy and some devil magic we can’t quite explain.

Nolan Arenado scored the eventual game-winning run on a wild pitch. Their magic number to clinch the second NL Wild Card spot is now just six.

How many games have the Cardinals won in a row?

That would be 12 straight games, in case anyone needed a reminder! They join the Houston Astros as the only teams to record such a win streak in September.

Who in the world wants to face this team right now? St. Louis’ win streak makes the race for the NL West all the more important, as the loser (Giants or Dodgers) will have to host the Cardinals in the Wild Card Game.
