Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs look to rebound from a tough primetime loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Hopefully for Mahomes’ case, a return home to the friendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium will also mean a return to the win column.
Mahomes and the Chiefs came oh so close to a massive road victory last Sunday night in Baltimore, but fumbled away their chances late — literally. Instead, Lamar Jackson played the role of hero for the Ravens, and got a monkey off his back in the process.
Beating the Chargers will be no easy task, however. Justin Herbert is as capable of a passer as anyone the NFL can offer, and the Chiefs pass defense — outside of Tyrann Mathieu — doesn’t inspire much confidence.
While Andy Reid and Steve Spagnuolo surely gave that unit hell at practice this week, expect a high-scoring affair given the two quarterbacks facing off this weekend.
The Chiefs high-priced defensive line has been anything but efficient so far this season, with Chris Jones and Co. failing to provide much pressure on the quarterback. This has ironically put extra pressure on their secondary, which hasn’t been up to task.
