Clemson football head coach Dabo Swinney provides injury updates on Bryan Bresee and Will Shipley.

This was not the year Clemson football fans were hoping for in the least.

While head coach Dabo Swinney provided positive news on injured running back Will Shipley, it appears to be season over for star defensive lineman Bryan Bresee. Clemson is 2-2 on the season after getting upset by the division rival NC State Wolfpack. It is not even October and Bresee’s season is done with a torn ACL. Clemson can still win the ACC, but will not be making the playoff.

The Tigers took a huge hit in the latest AP Top 25 poll, cratering from No. 9 all the way to No. 25.

Clemson football injury updates: Bryan Bresee tore ACL, Will Shipley did not

The good news for Clemson is the Tigers can still win the ACC. NC State may have the head-to-head tiebreaker, but this team already lost a bad one to Mississippi State. The Wolfpack are ranked, but are certainly capable of dropping two conference games. However, Clemson still has to play the last two undefeated teams in the ACC in division play in Boston College and Wake Forest.

Though losing Bresee for the year is brutal, Clemson should already be planning for next season.
