Davante Adams told NBC’s Michele TaFoya that he’s hoping to keep playing with Aaron Rodgers next season.
During Sunday Night Football, Green Bay Packers fans are seeing just how special the combo of Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers is. The two have been spectacular, with Adams catching seven balls for 73 yards and a touchdown alone in the first half.
Well, could this be the last season that the two end up playing together? It’s feeling more and more likely that the two will leave Green Bay come 2022. However, when asked by Michele Tafoya about his future plans, Adams sure gave Packers fans some hope.
Packers star Davante Adams left the door open for him and Aaron Rodgers to return
In the middle of the SNF telecast, Tafoya said she spoke with Adams and asked if he thinks he’ll be catching balls from Rodgers come next campaign. More, Tafoya asked if it will be for the Packers. Adams said he wasn’t sure, but he’d be open to that happening.
After the rough start to the season for the offense, Green Bay is back to being nothing short of fantastic. Rodgers and Adams are the two that really power things. The thought of both of them not returning next year must keep Packers supporters up late at night.
With that said, Adams didn’t sign an extension with the team and Rodgers has made it seem like he’ll be ready to try and close out his career elsewhere. However, if things can change and Rodgers’ relationship with the front office does a 180, he could make his way back for next season too.
Should that happen, could Adams really leave if Rodgers does stay put? It’s hard to see him doing that. It really feels like Adams will try and make his plans according to what Rodgers does. There will be plenty of speculation leading up to next season. Who knows what will end up happening.
