Bold Prediction 2: Mac Jones wakes up versus Tom Brady

The New England Patriots look like an absolute mess this week against the New Orleans Saints. The defense was not playing at a championship-caliber like the team needs them to right now. Damien Harris was absolutely awful in the backfield. James White suffered a major hip injury. Worst of all, Mac Jones looked like a rookie.

Jones had open receivers. Jakobi Meyers was actually really good against the Saints secondary, and Jones missed him multiple times. He also missed Kendrick Bourne on a sure touchdown. Those misses will come up on film, and Josh McDaniels and Bill Belichick will work on it all week.

This is the week football fans have been waiting for all season long. Tom Brady is returning to Foxborough for the first time since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs are coming off a loss, and Brady is as motivated as ever to win.

However, the Bucs secondary is in tatters. Starting cornerbacks Jamel Dean and Sean Murphy-Bunting are both likely to be out on Sunday. It showed this past Sunday what that does to the secondary. The Rams wide receivers were able to do whatever they wanted down the field. If the Patriots can block the Bucs front seven, we could see a big day from Mac Jones.
