Worst MLB postseason losses of all-time

No team wants to end up on the wrong side of the list of the worst losses in the history of the MLB playoffs, but someone has to be there.

Blowouts happen all the time. They make sense when a playoff contender beats up a bottom dweller.

What’s more shocking is when a blowout happens in the playoffs.

There have been some huge ones through the years.

The 1999 ALDS saw Cleveland take a 2-0 lead before Boston battled back with three straight wins including an exclamation point in Game 4. Their 23 runs are the most in a playoff game ever.

The Red Sox also prevailed in the 2018 ALDS over the Yankees, shocking their rivals with 16 runs.

Cleveland can take heart in the fact they came back a couple of years later and smashed the Mariners, 17-2 in Game 3 of the 2001 ALDS. Unfortunately for them, Seattle pulled it together to take the series with wins in Game 4 and 5.

The 1996 NLCS fell apart for the Cardinals, who did well to force a Game 7 after losing 14-0 in Game 5. It just didn’t go their way when Atlanta dropped 15 unanswered runs on them in the final game of the series.

The Dodgers beat the Braves 15-3 in the 2020 NLCS, ranking 10th in postseason win margin. Which team will take a run at the leaderboard next?
