College football expert picks give out the five best college football bets of Week 5 so you can win some cash with our free best bets of the week.

No one is ever going to have a 100 percent hit rate with college football best picks and locks, even if you’re confident in them. That’s been evident many times before and will likely be the case in Week 5 if we’re being honest. However, last week was one when the belief was high in all of the picks and it paid off.

We’re coming off of a 5-0 week in which the college football locks were on fire and we made mincemeat of the oddsmakers. Now, it’s time to try and do something similar and keep raking in the winnings. That’s what we’re going to attack this week as we come up with five more bets that have our full confidence.

These are the college football best bets for Week 5. Lock ’em in.

Best college football bets Week 5: Locks of the week

5. Boston College (+14.5) at Clemson

Clemson’s offense has looked broken all season and now they’re without Will Shipley for several weeks and match up with a good, well-coached Boston College team and defense. This game isn’t going to have enough points scored for the Tigers to be favored by more than two touchdowns, especially against a quality team that has stood up to adversity at every turn this season.

4. USC at Colorado (+7.5)

We’re going to be underdog-heavy this week because the value is there and that is pertinent to this matchup. USC has looked terrible and just lost to Oregon State at home. Colorado is better than the Beavers and they get the Trojans at home. There’s no world where I’m not taking a decent team getting more than a touchdown against Kedon Slovis and a seemingly hapless USC team right now.

3. Northwestern at Nebraska – Under 51.5

Hurry up and jump on this total because it’s dropping, as it should. These are two substandard offenses and, on top of that, at least one of the defenses (Nebraska) is pretty darn good. I would be shocked if these teams played twice if the total would be over 50 points, so take this bet and run to the window with it.

2. Oklahoma at Kansas State (+10.5)

We bet West Virginia +17.0 last week in Norman because Oklahoma has shown nothing to indicate that they should be double-digit favorites against good teams. Kansas State in Manhattan is a tough, tough matchup and one that has gotten the better of the Sooners in recent years. The same principle applies strongly, though, in that OU shouldn’t be double-digit favorites in this type of matchup right now.

1. Ole Miss (+450) at Alabama – Moneyline

This is a bold call for making locks, I’ll admit that. But there’s so much value with an Ole Miss team that I firmly believe is capable of winning this game at +450 on the moneyline.

The Rebels have arguably the best offense in college football and are going up against a defense that has not been tested to that degree. Moreover, we haven’t seen Bill O’Brien or Bryce Young show the ability to get into a shootout and make the adjustments to keep up. Lane Kiffin and Matt Corral have shown as much, which is why we’re riding the moneyline and holding on for dear life.
