9. Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders

This one obviously has a major, major risk behind it. Josh Jacobs hasn’t played with a toe injury, but if he does play this week, his matchup is so good he’s still worth consideration. In his absence, the Raiders were still committed to the run with Barber, but Jacobs is clearly the most talented option in the backfield.

Jacobs has been practicing this week, and it’s leaning towards him being ready to play. He is taking on the Los Angeles Chargers who are the worst team against the run in the NFL. They allow 170 yards on the ground per game, and it’s not like they are facing superstars in the backfield. Jacobs, if healthy, could be one of if not the top scorer of the week. The Chargers and Raiders are going to be a fun matchup anyway, but it could be a banner day for the former first-round pick.

8. Cordarrelle Patterson, Chicago Bears

The Atlanta Falcons’ own website is getting into the Mike Davis-Cordarrelle Patterson debate. Getting the ball to Patterson in space is clearly the best thing going for the Atlanta Falcons offense. Matt Ryan has looked bad so far, but against the Giants, the offense as a whole looked competent.

Patterson’s Falcons are facing a Washington Football Team that has allowed 125 yards per game on the ground. They also allowed a receiving touchdown to Bills running back Zack Moss last week. The Bears know the way to a win is to get Patterson involved, and they will be creative in making him successful this week.
