5. Trey Sermon, San Francisco 49ers

It is just so hard to stay away from the San Francisco 49ers running backs. Despite seemingly loving a different player each and every week, their matchups scream “play me”. This week is no different. The 49ers are facing their bitter rivals in the Seattle Seahawks. Elijah Mitchell is coming off his injury and he has been practicing this week, but that means nothing to Kyle Shanahan.

Especially in daily fantasy formats where saving money is key to getting superstars on the roster, Trey Sermon can serve a very clear purpose. The Seahawks are allowing the third-most rushing yards in the league. Alex Mattison just put up more than 100 yards rushing against them with Dalvin Cook a late scratch. Derrick Henry put up one of the best days of the season against Seattle. Trey Sermon can easily make this matchup work.

4. Leonard Fournette, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Here is another matchup that is stress-inducing, but the New England Patriots are going to put every single ounce of their focus on stopping Tom Brady in his return to Foxborough. They are going to blitz hard, put out five and six-man secondaries, and throw the kitchen sink at the quarterback. That will allow Leonard Fournette to show why he’s still ready to be an X-factor on the defending Super Bowl champs.

Both Fournette and Ronald Jones have been major disappointments this season. Tom Brady is leading the team in rushing yards this season. That is pathetic, but it’s still early. The Bucs still have a dynamic offensive game plan, and they know what the Patriots focus on. The Pats have been able to bend and not break, but they are allowing a lot of yards in between the 20s. If Fournette can break one, he will have a huge day.
