Morgan Moses, offensive tackle

Run blocking has been one of the biggest problems for the Steelers’ offense. According to ESPN, the Steelers are 29th in the NFL in run block win rate.

This is not a new problem, either. Last season, the Steelers were 24th in the league in run block win rate.

Veteran Morgan Moses would be a significant upgrade over Chukwuma Okorafor. Last season, Moses had a PFF run-blocking grade of 85.9. Comparatively, Okorafor had a PFF run-blocking grade of 49.0, last season.

After spending seven years in Washington, Moses signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets. The contract is worth $3.6 million, but it can reach $5 million with incentives.

The 0-3 Jets should not have a lot of incentive to keep the 30-year-old tackle on an expiring contract. Moses will help the Steelers compete this season, and the front office may be able to acquire him for a late-round pick.
