2. Cam Newton

If the Steelers want to consider a free agent option, there is no denying that the top QB available is Cam Newton.

After his lengthy stint with the Carolina Panthers reached its end, Newton found a new team in the New England Patriots, who were looking for a successor for Tom Brady. Newton did show flashes early on in the 2020 season, but the team’s offense was rather weak in terms of wide receivers.

Through 15 games in 2020, Newton threw for 2,657 yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 65.8-percent of his passes. Additionally, Newton rushed for 592 yards and 12 touchdowns on 137 carries.

After being brought back on a one-year deal, Newton was released prior to the 2021 season after competing for the starting job throughout training camp with New England’s first-round selection Mac Jones.

Just imagine what Newton will be able to do with the Steelers and their stacked wideout depth chart and a solid running back in rookie Najee Harris.
