Damien Williams and a pair of New York wide receivers highlight the top fantasy football pickups to make ahead of Week 5.

The first month of the fantasy football season is over and hopefully you’ve got at least one win under your belt. No matter the record of your team, there is always room to improve your roster in the ever-evolving NFL landscape.

Without any further ado, let’s dive into this week’s edition of the fantasy football pickups, which will be valuable if you are in need of help at wide receiver. All roster percentages referenced in this story are courtesy of Yahoo Fantasy. They will also be rostered in less than 50 percent of all Yahoo leagues as of post time so you will have an opportunity to go make these pickups.

5. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 5 – Giants WR Kadarius Toney

Injuries to Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard created an opportunity for the New York Giants to work 2021 first-round pick Kadarius Toney into the mix and he paid immediate dividends. Toney was targeted nine times by Daniel Jones and caught six passes for 78 yards, showcasing some of the explosive potential that made him an intriguing pick.

Jones has quietly been solid this season and has done a good job getting the football to his receivers. The health of Shepard and Slayton could impact Toney’s target share, but as long as they are out he should get a lot of attention from Jones.

Toney is rostered in just three percent of Yahoo leagues and could be in line for a huge day in Week 5 as the Giants head to Dallas for a potential shootout with the Cowboys. Take a flier on Toney as a depth option who needs to be inserted right into your starting lineup if he is line for big reps in that matchup.
