4. Top fantasy football pickups for Week 5 – Jets WR Jamison Crowder

It may seem odd to see a New York Jets’ player listed in the top fantasy football pickups of the week but Jamison Crowder made a massive impact on the Jets’ offense today. Active for the first time after missing New York’s first three games with a groin injury, Crowder immediately became a preferred target for rookie quarter Zach Wilson.

Wilson looked Crowder’s way nine times against the Tennessee Titans and the veteran slot receiver secured seven catches for 61 yards and a touchdown. The game itself looked like a huge step forward for Wilson, who seemed to have the game slow down for him in the second half and helped the Jets pull off a big upset over Tennessee.

The addition of Crowder definitely helped in that regard since he was New York’s top receiver a year ago and represents a massive upgrade on Braxton Berrios in the slot. Playing on a bad team that will be behind in plenty of games also offers immense garbage time potential for Crowder, who can rack up points for fantasy owners in PPR leagues.

Crowder is rostered in just 19 percent of Yahoo leagues but needs to be picked up en masse ahead of the Jets’ Week 5 trip to London to take on the Atlanta Falcons, who just got shredded for 290 yards passing by Taylor Heinicke. That game has shootout potential and Crowder could contribute another good day as a flex option.
