Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Max Scherzer was not happy with his manager Dave Roberts when he pulled him in the NL Wild Card game vs. the Cardinals.

If Max Scherzer could have eviscerated Dave Roberts on the spot when he came to the mound to take him out in the fifth inning of the NL Wild Card game, he might have.

The Dodgers pitcher was clearly not a fan of Roberts pulling him from a 1-1 game like that.

Scherzer had runners on first and second with one out. He’d just struck out batter out when Roberts rushed out to the mound.

Later video on the broadcast showed Scherzer asking Roberts for an explanation in the dugout. He was fuming on the Dodgers bench.

Dodgers: Should Dave Roberts have pulled Max Scherzer?

The proof, as always, is in the pudding. Scherzer will certainly believe he had what it would have taken to get out of the jam. As it played out, Joe Kelly was able to strand the two Cardinals runners and get the Dodgers out of trouble.

That may have relieved Scherzer in the moment, but not being able to come out of the dugout for the sixth inning probably won’t give him good feelings towards Roberts either.
