Despite the Pittsburgh Steelers struggling mightily this season on offense, don’t expect quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to be benched.

No one expected the Pittsburgh Steelers to be in this position right now. Entering the Week 5 tilt going up against the Denver Broncos, Mike Tomlin’s men are 1-3 on the year and in last place of the AFC North standings.

It goes without saying, but the play of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been terrible. Fans are calling for him to get benched. If you ask NFL insider Adam Schefter, though, he doesn’t anticipate that happening in 2021.

Adam Schefter doesn’t see any scenario where Ben Roethlisberger gets benched this season

As you can see in the video above, Schefter is quite adamant in stating that Tomlin will never send Roethlisberger to the sidelines to watch either Mason Rudolph or Dwayne Haskins take over the offense.

While this might be disappointing news for countless folks out there, it looks like Tomlin is going to let Roethlisberger ride things out. On the year thus far, the veteran signal-caller has thrown for 1,033 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions.

After opening up the campaign with a road win going up against the Buffalo Bills, the Steelers have lost three consecutive games. In Week 4, Pittsburgh suffered a 27-17 loss to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. In that defeat, Roethlisberger was simply outplayed by the Packers standout.

Roethlisberger tossed for 232 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The week before in the loss to the Bengals, Roethlisberger went 38-of-58 for 318 yards and two interceptions. Come this weekend, he’ll need to step his game up if the Steelers want to have a shot at taking down the Broncos. After all the success he’s had with the organization, it really is a bummer for the Pittsburgh supporters to see him playing so poorly.
