4. Cleveland wins the turnover battle vs. a strong Chargers team

This cannot be overstated. In a game where the Bolts probably outplay the Browns for most of the afternoon, timely turnovers will allow the Browns ample opportunities to get back into this one. Despite having a loaded roster, there is a reason why the Chargers are one of the most horrendously snakebitten franchises in the NFL. Three bad turnovers will keep the Browns alive.

Fate would have it the one time Justin Herbert gets sacked, he fumbles the football. Expect for his lone interception on the day to be of the tipped pass variety. As far as the other Chargers’ turnover, it will be a savvy play by the Browns’ defense to punch out a football on what should have been a long gain for the Bolts’ offense. All three of these turnovers will add up for them.

Last week saw the Browns win a game when the team did not have its best stuff. While the Chargers are a better squad over the Minnesota Vikings, Cleveland will still need to find a way to win a game without firing on all cylinders. The Browns’ roster is absolutely loaded, but any of these wins in tight ballgames not at full strength will give them the confidence they will need later.

Look for the Browns to be at least plus-two in the turnover differential vs. the Chargers Sunday.
