Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora commented on the commanding lead his team took over the against the Tampa Bay Rays in ALDS Game 2.

After a 5-0 loss to Tampa Bay in Game 1, the Boston Red Sox took a commanding lead in a 14-6 win at Tropicana Stadium.

The Red Sox were enthusiastic about the win, sharing a photo that captured the playoff energy Boston fans are feeling tonight.

But manager, Alex Cora, too k the more humble approach to the win.

“We hit the ball hard yesterday,” he said. “Offensively, we’re getting to who we are. It was just a 3-0 game in the 2nd inning, that’s the way we saw it…don’t panic. We put 2 in the first and still had 8 innings.”

Red Sox fans are prematurely congratulating the team on their fifth World Series win since 2004 — an eventuality that is well within their sights after tonight’s play.

As well as Boston players did, the credit also goes to Alex Cora, the former Red Sox infielder who know manages the team. After serving as the bench coach for the Houston Astros during their 2017 World Series season, Cora went to Boston to win a franchise-best 108 games and lead the team to winning the 2018 World Series. This is Cora’s first season since serving a one-year suspension due to his involvement in the 2017 Astros sign-stealing scandal.
