When’s the last time Texas A&M beat Alabama in football?
By John Buhler
It has been a while since the Texas A&M football program has defeated the Alabama football team.
Since joining the SEC, the Texas A&M football program has defeated the Alabama football team a grand total of one time.
However, that time was a most glorious moment in the history of Aggies football. This was Texas A&M’s first season in the SEC and that 2012 date in Tuscaloosa saw redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel have his Heisman Trophy moment. Since Manziel’s famous bobble touchdown for the Aggies, the Crimson Tide had won the next eight games over their new SEC West division rival.
Facing a 14-point deficit at halftime, Nick Saban’s team had its work cut out for it on Saturday.
Texas A&M football: When was the last time the Aggies beat Alabama?
Given that they play each other annually, it was only a matter of time before the Aggies got the best of the Crimson Tide on a Saturday. Should the Aggies pull this off, Jimbo Fisher will become the first Saban disciple to beat him head-to-head. Long before their current posts, Fisher had been Saban’s offensive coordinator where they were with the LSU Tigers back in the mid-2000s.
As long as this rivalry is played, Manziel will always be connected to upsetting the Crimson Tide.
