There’s an emphasis on the word was there. Williams held the No. 1 spot among quarterbacks and ranked No. 6 nationally when he signed for Oklahoma. However, when Quinn Ewers reclassified to join Ohio State early, he overtook Williams.
Despite that, Williams was a five-star prospect
2. Caleb Williams went to Gonzaga HS in Washington DC

After his senior season was called off due to COVID, Williams was playing his first action in more than two years this season.
3. Caleb Williams won his high school title on a Hail Mary
In 2018, Williams led Gonzaga to their first Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title since 2002 and he did it in style.
In the finals against No. 1 DeMatha, Williams had three touchdown passes, two scores on the ground and one TD catch. He threw a 41-yard Hail Mary on the final play of the game to give his team a dramatic 46-43 victory.
4. Caleb Williams was the Elite 11 Finals MVP in 2020
Before the coronavirus pandemic resulted in his senior season of high school being canceled, Williams was named the MVP of the Elite 11.
Twenty quarterbacks were invited to show out and Williams outplayed all of them.
