Ed Orgeron and the LSU Tigers are having a rough time on the road against Kentucky. Is it time for LSU to make a move to get a new head coach?

As the LSU Tigers struggle mightily on the road against the Kentucky Wildcats, is it officially time for there to be a new head coach in Baton Rouge?

Yes, after losing to Kentucky, it’s clear Ed Orgeron needs to be fired. Right now.

LSU dropped to 3-3 on the season and 8-8 since winning the national championship in 2019. Orgeron’s team has an arduous schedule up ahead and it’s hard to imagine that things get easier anytime soon. LSU should swallow the buyout and fire Orgeron and begin the search for the next LSU football coach.

Following this game, LSU will play Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana-Monroe, and Texas A&M. Only one of those games seems like a likely win, and it’s not any of the ones against SEC foes.

Ed Orgeron is a dead man walking and LSU needs to fire him immediately

It wasn’t that long ago that Orgeron brought a national championship to Baton Rouge, but things have gotten ugly for the Tigers since that national title at the end of the 2019 season.

Given the resources that the Tigers have and the regional talent available to LSU’s coaching staff for recruiting, this is a program that is underachieving.

Sure, it’s hard to win championships each and every season, there is only one Nick Saban and only one Alabama, but the Tigers should be achieving more. Will this group move on from Orgeron in hopes of winning at a higher level?
