The Minnesota Vikings will host the Detroit Lions in an NFC North matchup for NFL Week 5.

The 1-3 Minnesota Vikings have put themselves in another must-win situation this week against the Detroit Lions. This is Minnesota’s first NFC North matchup this season and dropping a game to the winless Lions who already fell victim to the Packers and Bears would almost certainly seal the Vikings out of a playoff opportunity down the road.

Kirk Cousins has been far from the problem for Minnesota and continues to play well despite little help from his offensive line. Dalvin Cook is still banged up, but Alexander Mattison should be able to find success against a weak Detroit run defense should he need to. The toughest challenge for the Vikings will be their atrocious secondary, but that’s nothing they aren’t used to.

Detroit really has nothing to lose here. They haven’t beat Minnesota in the last seven contest between the two teams and unless a miracle happens, it does not look like they’ll be making a postseason run. So why not win? Even Jared Goff shouldn’t have much trouble passing against the Vikings. If the defense can contain Cousins at all, don’t count out Detroit.

Here is the information you need to watch the Vikings host the Lions on Sunday afternoon.
