Tyrann Mathieu and other former LSU football players loved seeing their team beat Florida.

In a game that the LSU football team had to have, the Bayou Bengals got it done vs. the visiting Florida Gators to Tyrann Mathieu’s delight.

As the former star of DBU gets ready for Week 6 of the NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs safety was amped to see his alma mater get a big victory over Florida. LSU has won the last three meetings over their cross-divisional rival. For Florida, this is the Gators’ third loss of the season. Not only are they not making the playoff, but they are probably missing out on the New Year’s Six.

All the while, Mathieu and several other former LSU greats celebrated their team’s big victory.

Mathieu was obviously not alone in his praise of the Tigers after Saturday. His Chiefs teammate Darrel Williams got in on the action, as well as Terrace Marshall Jr. of the Carolina Panthers. They were also joined by long-retired, but prominent football analysts Ryan Clark and Booger McFarland. Again, this is a win worth celebrating if you are LSU, even if it was an early kickoff.

With an upset victory at home, Ed Orgeron’s seat became a little less hot entering Week 8.
