Tennessee and Ole Miss meet on the gridiron but Peyton and Eli Manning will not have a “Manningcast” to be on the call for their alma maters.

Peyton Manning was a star quarterback at Tennesee, while Eli Manning became a household name for the Ole Miss Rebels. With the upcoming game between the two schools, there is a question of whether or not both men would actually call the game.

The answer is no, unfortunately, but there are bragging rights on the line between the two. Furthermore, just how interesting could it be given how they each brought prominence to their school, and both were drafted No.1 overall following their college football playing careers.

Also, in case people haven’t noticed, both men recently have been doing Monday Night Football broadcasts, and it has largely been a success due to their chemistry and ability to work together. With their colleges playing against each other, that would have been a sight to see.

Peyton and Eli Manning won’t call Tennessee vs. Ole Miss but they should

While playing in orange and white, Peyton became a star at Tennesee, throwing for over 11,000 yards and 89 touchdowns and boasted a career record of 39-6. After college, Manning became the No. 1 overall pick by the Indianapolis Colts and played 18 seasons in the NFL, the last four with the Denver Broncos. Manning would play in four Super Bowls, winning two and becoming a Super Bowl MVP.

Eli on the other hand, played at his father’s alma mater and tossed for over 10,000 yards and threw for 84 touchdowns. Afterward, Manning was selected No.1 overall by the San Diego Chargers before being traded to the New York Giants on Draft Day. Eli spent 16 seasons with the Giants, winning two Super Bowls, twice beating the Patriots and being named Super Bowl MVP.

It’s such a shame that both brothers will not be on the call for a game between their schools; it would have been fun to watch and see who gets the last laugh. It’s fair to assume that the next time they do a Monday Night broadcast together, the result of this game will be brought up.
