Baker Mayfield gave the Cleveland Browns hope with an improbable first-half Hail Mary touchdown pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones to be within striking distance of the undefeated Arizona Cardinals.

Baker Mayfield’s prayer was answered, as the Cleveland Browns quarterback found wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones on a Hail Mary to stun the Arizona Cardinals.

Despite a COVID outbreak among the coaching staff, the Cardinals put it on the Browns early to keep their perfect record intact. While this game is far from over, Cleveland was not looking great in the first half before Mayfield found Peoples-Jones at the front of the end zone for most glorious pay dirt. This incredible aerial strike made it 23-14 Cardinals heading into halftime of Week 6.

This is one of those plays that will keep a good team like the Browns in a game they could lose.

Even if this game is being played in Cleveland, Arizona is the last undefeated team in the NFL for a reason. They have weapons all over the gridiron offensively and have one of the most well-rounded defenses in the league. Though the Cardinals are far from a Super Bowl championship team right now, they are right there with the Los Angeles Rams for the best team in the NFC.

With two quarters left to play, maybe Mayfield’s Hail Mary is what propels the Browns to victory?
